Spring has arrived, and with it, March 2025 delivered a whirlwind of fashion moments that defined the month. From celebrity-studded campaigns to sustainability efforts, trend resurgences, and unexpected collaborations, here’s everything you need to know about what went down in fashion this March.

Bad Bunny x Calvin Klein: A Cultural Moment

Bad Bunny continues to dominate not only the music charts but also the fashion scene. His latest Calvin Klein campaign, shot against the backdrop of Puerto Rico, celebrates confidence, sensuality, and everyday basics—think crisp white tanks, boxer briefs, and oversized denim; the signature Calvin Klein imagery. The visuals exude effortless cool, reinforcing the reggaeton star’s position as a style icon.

The collection’s minimalist yet striking approach signals a larger trend: the return to classic, understated pieces as the foundation of a stylish wardrobe.

Prada’s Ocean Initiative: A-List Advocacy for Sustainability

Luxury fashion and sustainability took center stage with Prada’s Ocean Initiative, an ambitious project aimed at reducing marine pollution and increasing the use of regenerated nylon in its collections. The initiative’s campaign, fronted by Sadie Sink and Benedict Cumberbatch, adds star power to the mission, bringing eco-conscious fashion into the mainstream.

Prada’s commitment to sustainability follows a larger industry trend, where luxury brands are being pushed to take tangible action against climate change and environmental damage. Although the initiative had positive intentions in its nature, this campaign has received quite a lot of backlash due to the price of these re-purposed products and how nylon is inherently inexpensive to manufacture as well as potential claims of "greenwashing" or prioritizing profit over commitment to sustainability.

Calvin Klein Introduces Shapewear Collection

In a move that surprised many, Calvin Klein announced its first-ever shapewear collection, bringing its signature sleek aesthetic to the world of compression wear. The collection features a range of sculpting bodysuits, high-waisted briefs, and contouring slips, blending form and function with the brand’s iconic minimalism.

With inclusivity at the forefront, the shapewear line caters to a broad range of sizes, emphasizing comfort and confidence over restriction. Expect this drop to rival big names like SKIMS and Spanx in the shaping game.

Paris Fashion Week: The Shoes and Bags Stealing the Spotlight

March wrapped up Paris Fashion Week, and the biggest takeaways? Statement shoes and sculptural handbags ruled the runways. From Loewe’s surrealist heel designs to Chanel’s oversized quilted totes, accessories were bold, unconventional, and ready to make a statement for 2025.

Shoes to Watch: Thigh-high slouchy boots at Balenciaga, futuristic mules at Louis Vuitton, and pearl-embellished pumps at Dior. A rise in the retro sneaker, a slimmer sneaker slightly reminiscent of bowling shoes (my personal opinion ofc), new takes on the traditional loafer, featuring an addition of elastic backing similar to a ballet flat, and heavy emphasis on the woven and snake skin materials.

Some of my personal favorites:

Bag Trends: Mini bags remain relevant, but the rise of oversized totes and structured geometric handbags signals a shift toward functional yet artistic accessories. A rise in handbags utilizing materials like raffia, new silhouettes like The Doctor Bag and The Dachshund, & dramatic features like belted bags with extravagant hardware and snake skin material

Some of my personal favorites:

CB2 x White Lotus: A Luxury Resort-Worthy Pop-Up

The viral success of The White Lotus has extended beyond TV screens and into the design world. CB2, the modern home retailer, partnered with the HBO hit for an exclusive luxury resort-inspired furniture pop-up in New York. Think: plush lounge chairs, rattan dining sets, and Mediterranean-influenced décor perfect for channeling your inner jet-setter.

This pop-up signifies a growing overlap between fashion, interior design, and pop culture, proving that aesthetic lifestyles are becoming just as important as clothing choices.

Golden Goose took experiential retail to the next level this March with its new interactive flagship store in New York City. This new experience features a "Co-creation Bar" for sneaker customization allowing customers to fully personalize their sneakers with custom distressing, hand-painted details, and embroidery—bringing the brand’s signature "perfectly imperfect" aesthetic to life.

Expect this DIY and customization trend to continue, as brands shift toward personalized luxury experiences rather than just product drops.

Tommy Hilfiger x Sofia Richie: A Modern Classic

Sofia Richie Grainge, the queen of quiet luxury, has teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger for a capsule collection that redefines Contemporary Classics. The collection blends the preppy aesthetic Tommy Hilfiger is known for with Sofia’s effortlessly elegant style—think crisp button-downs, relaxed suiting, and nautical influences. This collection features 23-pieces highlighting everything from bomber jackets & trench coats to swimwear, suiting and accessories.

Combining Tommy Hilfiger's brand identity of heritage and all-Americana and Sofia Richie’s influence on modern minimalism, expect this collection to fly off shelves.

Fashion Forecasting from Depop Predictions: How 2025’s Trends Are Taking Shape

According to Depop’s 2025 trend report, the year kicked off with a wave of nostalgia, and March has only solidified these predictions. Here’s how these major fashion movements have been unfolding so far in 2025:

  • 2010 Indie Sleaze Revival: At the beginning of the year, we saw early signs of Indie Sleaze creeping back into mainstream fashion—smudged eyeliner, fishnet stockings, and vintage band tees started appearing on runways and in street style. Now, by March, the aesthetic has fully taken hold. Tumblr-era fashion is back, with thrifted American Apparel disco pants, leather jackets, and messy, DIY styling dominating fashion week after-parties and social media.

  • Contemporary Classics & the Sofia Richie Effect: If one name has defined quiet luxury and Contemporary Classics, it’s Sofia Richie Grainge. With her Tommy Hilfiger collaboration and continuous influence on minimalist styling, 2025 has been the year of tailored blazers, structured denim, and neutral-toned investment pieces. Celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Zendaya have also embraced this refined, effortless approach, proving that understated elegance isn’t going anywhere.

  • Retro Sportswear Takes Over Street Style: The rise of 90s and early 2000s athleisure was predicted, and by March, it’s become an everyday staple. Brands like Adidas, Puma, and Fila have seen an uptick in their classic track jackets and oversized polo shirts, while Nike’s vintage-style sneakers are now a streetwear essential. We've also seen a surge in throwback sports sponsorships, with big brands revisiting archival designs from the early aughts.

  • Minimalist Renaissance in Full Swing: One of the biggest surprises of the year has been the warm-tone minimalism trend. Predicted by Depop in early January, soft butter yellows, rich chocolate browns, and deep beiges have replaced the once-dominant black-and-white minimalist palette. Chanel’s new rebranding efforts, which now cater to a younger audience, have fully embraced these tones, and the Paris Fashion Week runways were flooded with sheer, flowy neutrals and lace details.

So far, 2025 has been a year of blending nostalgia with refinement, proving that the best fashion moments are often rooted in the past—just with a modern twist. If these trends continue evolving at this pace, expect even more emphasis on vintage shopping, luxury basics, and throwback aesthetics as we head further into the year.

March’s Fashion Recap: The Takeaways

This month’s biggest fashion moments highlighted a mix of nostalgia, sustainability, and experiential retail. Whether it was Bad Bunny redefining Calvin Klein, Prada’s environmental commitments, or the growing importance of secondhand fashion, March proved that the industry is evolving toward both mindfulness and individuality.
